To whom it may concern

Again I have to call 17 times to handle one issue with Vodacom

I've had a contract with Vodacom for many years now, unfortunately the contract went to collections then Legal, then I had to settle the account. Using their third party vendor (TS Legal) I was advised that as soon as the account has been settled I will then await a Settlement Letter, to which I received 7 days later of settling the account, I was advised by Sandile Gqitani and his Supervisor that I should take the settlement letter to a Vodacom Shop and advise them that I need to convert my now settled account cellphone number to a Prepaid number.

Before I could go to a Vodacom Shop (knowing my experience with Vodacom) I contacted Vodacom with my Telkom number because my Vodacom number in question is out of use, using the number 082111. I spoke to a consultant (I wish I had written her name down) who then informed me that the number is still under my name, I then asked if I can now convert the number to a Prepaid account and she checked on her system and advised me for me to be able to convert the number I'd have to go to a Vodacom Shop with my ID and Proof of Residence, I clearly remember in that call stating that I do not have my ID as I've lost it, she then advised that I should take an Affidavit and a License or Passport.

When I arrived at a Vodashop in Greenstone, I was told the number reflects on the system under my name however it cannot be converted to Prepaid. Annoyed as I was I called Vodacom to a number of rude and unprofessional Subscriber Collections consultants (Phillip Mashubuka - Subscriber Collections and
Manelisa Khoza - Subscriber Collections) who advised me that my number cannot be converted as it has been deleted on the system. This is puzzling because the first lady I spoke to told me my number shows that it's still under my name, it has not been recycled and I can go do a sim swap, this was also confirmed at the Vodacom Shop that the number is showing all my information on the system.

I called Vodacom again, I then spoke to a lady by the name of Natasha who again advised me that the status of my account says Legal and that I can be able to retrieve the number back and convert it to a Prepaid number.

As I'm writing this, Rabia Struuman from TS LEGAL contacted Vodacom on my behalf trying to sort this MESS and she just confirmed that a consultant from Vodavom by the name of Karabo advises that I need to go to a Vodacom Shop to have the number reactivated.

Within a space of 5 hours I've spoken to 8 different Vodacom Staff and all are telling me something different. This is not the first time I'm experiencing such an inconvenience and utter disappointing service from Vodacom. I'm actually happy that I have closed the account and wish not to deal with this unprofessionalism from such a Big Organisation. It is pathetic how such a Big Company cannot invest in their product knowledge with their staff. It's appalling and disappointing.
