Dear Vodacom. I can't actually believe I'm here again writing another review especially since my last issue that landed me here was never attended to until it eventually sorted itself out a few weeks later after reporting a problem.
Anyway, we have a huge network problem here (Malangeni area - ndwedwe) under ilembe municipality. Your tower is situated between Ngoza area and Amatata area. It serves these following areas (but not limited to) Ngoza,Wosiyane,Malangeni, amatata, ezimpondweni, Swayimane, Sgqumeni, even some parts of Cato ridge.
I am situated in Malangeni area, all these above mention areas rely on your network and they're all your customers who are currently not happy with the service that is being given to us, I don't know maybe you guys are not attending to it as swiftly and as promptly because it's in a rural area because I doubt you'd do or let this happen for such a long time in an urban area. We'll we've had enough.
We sometimes go for days without having network and when it does come back it only does so for a couple of hours where we'll have good coverage then it's on and off and by on and off I mean back for 20 seconds ****erally) and gone for a minute then back again for 20 seconds. It basically blinks until it eventually disappears again for days. As I am typing this it's busy doing that on and off and I'm typing this on a notepad app because I'm afraid if I type it on the site I'll lose it because I know I'll have to attempt to send it while it's blinking or whatever it is that it's doing.
I know the first thing that you guys are gonna try and use as an excuse is load shedding but we've been having this issue long before load shedding got severe and it's doing this even in times where electricity isn't acting up or overloaded. I mean it's understandable when we having network issues during load shedding because we're aware that towers also use electricity but we also know that they have strong back up batteries. I'm not a technician but I know this has nothing to do with power. Otherwise it wouldn't be on and off.
Some of us are students and it's nearing exams, we study and write online. We also rely on the internet to work and survive and earn money that we use to buy data that we can't even use. Due to circumstances beyond my control I had to move here and so I work from home, I need zoom for my meetings and I cant use zoom without the internet, I can't receive phone calls to speak to clients, I'm also studying and I'm unable to access study material online. There are many unisa students here who are also relying on the internet to study.
On the areas that I mentioned there are more than 10 high schools which will be starting exams soon, those students need the internet for things such as Google to study but it doesn't matter right? Because were in a rural area and who cares if we don't have network coverage for 3 days! What do we even know about the internet!
Several people...infact more than several have called your call center and sometimes the network does come back after calling and sometimes u guys just don't bother, I've had to watch a lot of my data & minutes depletes without using it, I currently have a lot of data which I won't be able to finish on time before it reaches it depleting date because we don't have network!
We are tired! This coming Saturday we'll be having community meetings in several different areas where we'll be coming up with a way forward to sort out this matter and to look for an alternative. We are also looking to get as many signatures as we can which we can take to another service provider and ask them to bring their own tower which hopefully won't give us problems. You guys are basically showing us the middle finger and it's high time we actually saw it. This has been going on for weeks and surely someone there is very much aware and nothing is being done.
If anyone bothers to read this just know that we are tired it's either you guys want to give us the network or you take it because you can't do both. You have no idea the kind of damage not having network does and you'll be surprised. How I miss the old Vodacom when you guys were still a reliable service provider which actually cared for the needs or their clients.
End. P.s
I know someone will probably call me or want to call me...well you won't be able to because phones need network to receive phone calls!
Best regards,
