Send phone for repair quote and got it back with a hole in the screen through which you can see the internal workings of the phone

Brought in a phone with minor screen damage for a repair quote and got it back with a hole in the screen through which you can see the internal workings of the phone. Let me explain in detail.

We went to the Vodacom shop in the Grove mall and ask the employees there about screen repairs. They told us because the phone was just a month old that it is still under warranty and the repairs will be free. So we booked in the phone. The screen had a few minor cracks/scratches and it was stillnworking perfectly. After a few days we received a phone call from the Potchefstroom Vodacom repairs department that a screen is not covered and it will cost us R1000 to repair. Because a screen replacement kit for the phone costs R280 online we decided it was too expensive to fix and said they can send it back. Now when the phone was collected at the shop we got it back with a hole in the screen. So we can no longer use the phone. So Vodacom damaged the phone and just gave it back a lot worse condition. Now after a couple of arguments with the shop employees the phone is sent back to the repair team but we were told that they can not promise any resolution on the matter that they damaged the phone.

I can not believe anyone will damage a clients phone and just return it in a lot worse state

Hi Vodacom,
I see that you posted an "Official business reply" stated someone will contact us. This was 23hours ago and still nothing from Vodacom. It seems like you are using a default template to reply to reviews.
Please if you do not intend to actually do anything about a review or query, please do not reply with a template message which says a consultant will make contact.
