Selling OTB faulty good and denying responsibility
On the 21st of May 2015. I upgraded my contract and received a Samsung S6 Edge from Vodacom. Within a few days the phones internet service was not working, I went to go return the phone within 7 days (Vodacom Policy). Only to be told that it was a phone setting that was the issue. After returning a few days later after no joy, was I told that it is in fact the phone that's faulty. But the 7 days have elapsed so a REPAIR was FORCED on me. (Against Consumer Protection Act - states that if a consumer buys a product that becomes faulty through no fault of their own within 6 months of purchase, a REFUND is allowed at the customer's discretion). After the repair, the phone was still faulty. Then a second repair was FORCED, after that the phone was still not working. I went back into the shop only to be told another repair must be attempted. How many repairs can a client be subjected to? .. Thereafter SAMSUNG contacted me to offer me a REPLACEMENT because of Vodacom's refusal to do anything but repair over and over again. (This took in excess of over 3 months). After wasting thousands in petrol and time. A refund was finally agreed to. After a month no progress. (4 months without a phone)
