Last week I Contacted Vodacom regarding my Feb payment debit order not going through my bank account. They at that time advised me that the payment had been returned due to insufficient funds. I explained to the agent that was impossible as I had more than sufficient funds. She advised that the accounts would retry the debit order and advised me of costs that were added as a result of the unpaid debit order. Nothing happened, no debit order, so I made a manual payment. I was then going through my Capitec account and saw that Vodacom debit orders were trying to go through that account. So I contacted Vodacom today to enquire about this as my Standard bank account was my main account and the debit order had been going through that account for years. I was advised no sir you are wrong, your Vodacom account has indeed being going through the Capitec acc and not Standard. It was to the point of actually telling me that I had no idea of which bank account the debit order was going through. Now everyone knows that when you call Vodacom they have the security questions one of these is about how you pay your account including bank. So for all these years I have been confirming a Standard bank account but according to them today it is the Capitec account. I now like a fool have had to send to Vodacom both Capitec and Standard Bank statements to actually prove that I am telling the truth. But as to how the debit order was changed is a mystery. Some kind of magic trick. They have no record of me actually changing the account, even went so far as to tell me this debit order was checked in August 2025. It is like being in the twilight zone, an alternate universe where you are crazy and really that is how Vodacom treated me like I had escaped from a mental institution. It was absolutely degrading in a manner. So statements have been sent, I have requested copies of all the security checks of calls I have made to Vodacom over the last year, we all know Vodacom won't supply those. And as for the costs added to my account and Capitec fees for rejected debit orders. They would have been just happy today to change the debit order back to Standard and move along. But that doesn't solve how it was changed nor would it change how Vodacom really degraded me by insinuating that I was some kind of simpleton.
