**** to ***** clients money?
I've recently upgraded my phone telephonically which was supposed to be with Vodacom, but was done through Elite Mobile and I've got subscribed to Rescue box, Hotspotter and Techtrace Without my Concent and knowledge! I was under the impression that I was speaking to a Vodacom employee as always , in the past Vodacom offered me deals like a router per phone as well. The consultant even phoned me back after two days because I said I would still decide if I wanted to do an Upgrade/Downgrade. Immediately after the phone call to upgrade, I received sms's that I did the upgrade through Elite Mobile and more sms's showed memberships with accounts I never knew about, but was clearly done at the same time as the upgrade. I phoned Elite mobile back as soon as I saw the subscription sms's and I made it clear to remove me from these subscriptions. I was furious that my Id number, bankdetails, etc was shared with all these different accounts!! Today however, fees got deducted for subscriptions with Techtrace, Rescue box and Hotspotter.
I started to search the internet and found that these subscriptions are happening to other clients as well without Consent.
This is grossly devious abuse of clients personal details and *****ing from unknowing clients!
I am holding Vodacom responsible as I am their client and did not even expect to be upgraded by a different company (or contracted group)?. I am also furious that Vodacom shared all my details with Elite mobile. They had my bankaccount number and id number. I know this, because a manager gave me my number when I chose not to give my bank account number over the phone. I'm mostly disturbed about being subscribed to accounts and having deduction fees without consent, AND finding out this is happening to more clients.
I can only wonder how many people has had this happen to them by now, and might not even be aware of these monthly deductions.
I phoned Vodacom today after I saw the deductions and a complaint was logged.
Ive send these seperate accounts mails as well and hope to have everything sorted out asap.
