I signed up for an upgrade for 5g home internet with Vodacom and after receiving the router and installing it, it was found that I had no 5g coverage at my home. I contacted them and after trying a few things, it was suggested that the collect the router and revert me to my month on month billing. The router was collected 4 days later, and everything was confirmed that the new contract was cancelled. I received my statement and invoice for May and I was billed for the new contract. Contacted Vodacom and they assured me everything will be fine on the June bill and I should just pay my previous monthly amount. Came the June bill and nothing had changed, still billed for the new contract. I received a email from Vodacom notifying me that I was in arrears, Contact Vodacom again and a service request was logged to resolve the billing. 7 days later, I received a call and the lady processed the reversal and everything will be fine from July. I asked if my connection will be affected in anyway due to the reversal, and I was assured nothing will change. The next morning, I had no connectivity. Called once again and explained the entire situation to the consultant and she said my line was locked and she unlocked it and I should give it 2 to 5 hours. She arranged to call me after 5 hours to check. 5 hours later, she called, and I still had no internet, she kept me on the line while she spoke to her manager to get my line opened again. She eventually said, I would only be reverted to my old package on the 1st July and for the interim, I would need to get a prepaid sim and buy data, which I duly did the next morning. The next day, the same lady called and said my line in now unblocked, I removed the prepaid sim and installed my old sim, and true to her word, I was back online. The lady in question, Amor, restored my faith in Vodacom. I have been a Vodacom client since the inception of cellular in SA, Well done Amor, you are certainly a wonderful and great representative for Vodacom. Out of the 7 people I spoke to, only 3 did what they were suppose to do to resolve my situation.
