Samsung Gear Fit non supply

Instead of doing my bi-annual contract upgrade through a retail store like Makro where I have always received a good deal with a gift voucher, I browsed Vodacom's upgrades website.

I came across a deal on the Flexi 200 package for a Samsung Galaxy S6 with a free Gear Fit watch and the R10000 eeducational voucher. Seeing that I could put the watch to good use I tried to sign up for the deal online. Looked like the deal had gone through on the online platform but no response. Called the upgrades centre and was told there was nothing on the system. Tried again.. same result. Nothing registered.

So the next day I spoke to a consultant at Upgrades requseting the package. gave the details and she gave me the details back. She didnt mention the phone. When I asked she said she wasn't aware of it. I referred her to the website and was told that they didnt "do that anymore". Seeing that the deal was stll advertised with no apparent "while stocks last" disclaimer I requested the watch as advertised. i was then told that I would have to wait for delivery of the phone until stock of the watch arrived in the warehouse. I then requested delivery of the phone immedietly and the watch later. Was told it cant happen. Anyway was sent an upgrade quotation with the watch included and the phone was dispatched. Obviously no phone. I logged a call with customer support regarding the missing watch. Was then told to take it up with Upgrades. Not wanting to have to go through another pointless session with a call centre agent, i mailed upgrades requesting delivery of the watch. No reply.

The watch was advertised as part of the package. The original quotation included the watch. Thereafter another quotation was sent excluding it. I want delivery of the Gear Fit as advertised. Should it not have been included I most definately would not have used the online system for an upgrade!

Reviewer Update

Vodacom responded within a few hours to try and assist with the problem. The watch is no longer available and no delivery is expected from Samsung anytime soon.

I was given two options from them, both in my favour.
