Samsung Galaxy tablet warranty

My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is under contract with Vodacom and it only expires in November 2015.

I'm having problems with the charging of my tablet. Sometimes it does not charge at all. Then I unplug it and when I plug it in again, it charges. But then it only charges up to 21% or maybe 78% ...and only sometimes charges to full.

I asked questions on Google to see what the problem might be and to my amazement a LOT of people are battling with the same problem. Seems like it's an ongoing problem with the tablets. I took the tablet to Vodacom to see what the problem is and for them to repair it...as it it still under warranty till the contract expires.

They phoned met to say that I have to pay R800 and something for the repairs. When I asked why, seeing that it is still under warranty, I was told that the USB cable and the charger box need to be replaced as it was DAMAGED! My word, I don't let anybody else even touch my tablet and why on earth would I damage it? I don't even know how. All I ever do is plug it in to let in charge. I even have a special place where I store my charger so that it will be safe.

What does WARRANTY mean then? AAARGGGG!!!!!!
