Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

After taking a S7 edge, to have the screen replaced, to Vodacom Repair Centre Port Shepstone, we discovered that the phone is no longer water resistant as water was bubbling out of the back screen after my son was pushed into the shallow end of a pool with the phone, but he got out immediately. (The device has an IP 68 rating - up to 5ft of water for 30mins, confirmed by Samsung) and now the device has water damage. According to the techinician, Samsung lies about the water resistance simply to sell devices, so there is no such thing as a water resistant phone especially after replacing the screen. We were also informed that after a screen replacement we lose our warranty on the device. All of this information was "rubished" by Vodacom call centre operators as well as staff at Vodacom Stores. Sounds like there is staff who do not know what they are doing.

We have been battling to get this sorted out since December 2016!! We have been passed from pillar to post as nobody was prepared to take responsibility!!! And now have to take the device back to Galleria - half an hour away from us - so that it can be sent to Umhlanga!!!! And then will have to collect it again.

We purchased the contract for a water resistant device which is now no longer water resistant, due to the incompetence of staff (the fact that the screen was not replaced correctly was confirmed by a vodacom technician at galleria), we feel that Vodacom is in breach of their contract as, at the time of purchase, we were not informed that the device is no longer water resistant after a screen replacement, we were also never informed that we would lose our warranty after a screen replacement. And Vodacom has given us the run-around when it comes to trying to rectify the situation.

The call-centre staff have been brilliant by the way, always friendly and as helpful as they can possibly be.

My other gripe is excessively poor service as far as signal goes. We constantly have calls that come in but drop immediately and there are episodes where clients call our numbers (device is used for business) but are informed that the number no longer exists!!! We are losing business due to this as well as the dropped lines. Ridiculous Vodacom.

Giving us free minutes (2minutes in our case) with a limited time frame, is not helping the situation, sort out the problem!

We have been with Vodacom since around 2003 but it seems our business is no longer needed so we shall take it elsewhere as we are due to upgrade 2 contracts.
