Samsung galaxy S7 being fixed for the 6th plus time!

Good day

I have been without my new Samsung galaxy S7 for 2 months now.

My phone has been in for software updates and repairs for 6 plus times now. Three plus times with Vodacom advanced repairs.

The PC/motherboard has been replaced as well as the battery bank. My phone is currently still with advanced repairs as it was still giving the same problems even after the PC board was replaced.

I took out my contract in May and my phone was taken to be fixed in early June. It is now the first week of August.

I am so frustrated and upset and have been very patient in trying to plead to exchange the phone. I am at the point now where I feel my patience has been taken advantage of.

I was a customer of Vodacom for 10+ years before moving to another service provider for a 2 year contract then re-joined Vodacom in May this year.

I have started to resent my decision and am almost reduced to tears each day because of the experience I have received.

This is supposed to be one of the best phones on the market and I cannot understand why Vodacom won’t exchange the phone for me.

I have been paying for my contract each month and have not been able to use the phone. Each time I receive the phone back I am told they could not find anything specific and then within a short while of me using the phone it does the same thing.

I have taken videos and pictures of what the phone does as evidence and have said I can make this available, but nobody wants to see and it seems like they hope by doing a software upgrade it will fix everything, which clearly has not worked.

The phone has been freezing, restarting randomly, randomly shuts off by itself where you physically have to hold down all buttons on the phone to turn it on again. Most apps (even the standard, preloaded, default ones) says “unfortunately this app has stopped working.” I know it is not my Samsung account or apps as I have checked this and have my Samsung account loaded on another Samsung galaxy phone.

During this time I have missed out on specials and promotions, for example I was not able to register to receive free access to the music store which was being advertise, I could register on the app for the Samsung head goggles. I have spent so much time going back and forth to take the phone in, each time having to give up my lunch breaks, personal time, whatever it may be and having to pay for parking each time. All these little things add up. Not to mention that my screen protector was removed for which I paid R300 for.

I am beyond exhausted and drained from this situation, which I believe has been totally unfair.

When I decided to leave Vodacom initially I used to receive all these calls about the fact that I am a valued customer, with Vodacom wanting to offer me special deals because I was a well-paying good customer etc.

I almost feel embarrassed when trying to defend Vodacom to my friends and family and now I feel it is going to take a lot for me to renew my contract at the end of this 2 year period unless a change is made.

I sincerely hope that someone at Vodacom will see this message and assist me.

I really just would like a new phone and not a phone that has been fixed up. I understand that there are processes etc. in place, but after this amount of time surely management can make the decision to honour good customer service.

Thank you
