Samsung Galaxy S7

I have used a number of phones over the years, but I am yet to come across one as unreliable as the Samsung Galaxy S7. I purchases a brand new phone through Vodacom on the 17th of March 2016 just as it launched. Having used a Samsung S3 I was really excited especially for the gear VR. Since then I have been continuously disappointed.

During the first 3 months the phone never stayed on for the full duration of the battery. The phone dies at random battery levels (56%, or 32% or who knows what level) and does not switch on thereafter. When put on charge, the battery starts to charge at the level it switched off (56% or 32% or who knows what level) and that’s only if it switches on.

I had to book the phone in for repairs at Vodacom four ways mall twice in the six months that I had it. The first time was on the 04 June 2016. The phone switch off and when I tried to switch it back on after charging it, the phone did not start. It switched on but was then stuck on the Samsung logo. The phone did not switch off or restart. About a week later I received the phone back from Vodacom four ways mall with a report back from the engineer stating “Mechanical parts replaced”. No one at Vodacom could explain what that meant or why it happened. At least now the phone switched on but I lost all my important information that was stored on phone. phone numbers, voice records, picture, videos, documents everything that I had transferred from my previous phone. Boy did I miss my old phone.

The phone worked for the next month but still had the issues of dying at random battery levels. On the 17 July 2016 the phone again switch off and when I tried to switch it back on after charging it, the phone did not start. It switched on but was then stuck on the Samsung logo yet again. I proceeded to book it yet again at Vodacom four ways mall. Again I received it after about a week with same engineer report “Mechanical parts replaced” and all my information was lost yet again.

The phone then worked for another month but still has the issues of dying at random battery levels and today 16 August 2016 it bombs out again. It was stuck on the Samsung logo again.

I am beyond disappointed with this phone and lack of assistance with this recurring problem.

Tomorrow I have the mission of locating a Samsung store that does repairs as the one in four ways is just for show.
