Samsung flip5

Dear Vodacom Customer Care,

I am writing regarding my Samsung flip5 handset ! purchased 21/08/2023

The phone was previously repaired in 2024 When I received it back, I noticed a minor fault on the [flip/bumper area], but I did not think much of it at the time. In 2025, that same area began showing light leakage, and this has now developed into a full screen malfunction.

I have now been quoted R10,000 for a screen replacement. However, this issue is clearly linked to the quality of the earlier repair. In terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), repairs must be done properly and be free of defects for a reasonable period. Since the current problem originated from the 2024 repair, I believe it is unfair that I am being asked to pay for a defect that Vodacom or its repair partner caused.

I request that Vodacom:

Escalate this case for review, considering it is a direct consequence of a prior repair.

I trust Vodacom values its customers and will handle this matter fairly. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and advise me of the next steps.

Kind regards, Mr Davids
