Sadness of not being a 'selected saver'

I am a Vodacom customer. The NXT LVL data bundles are value for money. I buy a bundle almost everyday.
The 50% back on recharge is just as great.

Today I bought a R55 airtime voucher, thinking I can buy data for the next week or two, and I had about R27 in recharge givebacks.

I inadvertently left my mobile data on. But I have R27 free airtime which I have used for data before. So I should be alright. My background data is restricted and my phone isn't on any social media platforms or on the internet as far as I know. And I know my phone and it's data usage. It's not even a fancy phone so what could I possibly do to deplete my airtime?

So, I know I don't have much free airtime. I go into the internet and have just under R10 free airtime and R44 in airtime (R11 deducted For the airtime advance I had. (No contest there). I left my phone for a while. No apps running and decide to check my balance. Under R3 left...

I checked again incase there was an error. No. No change. I couldn't even buy a data bundle with the little airtime I had left. I am so upset.

But I thought about it... On my other Vodacom Sim card, I get a pop up USSD menu telling me that I have no active internet bundles and I get warned that I'll be charged out of bundle rates. That number usually is not even topped up with airtime. Why don't I get that notification on this number?

So, I have a question. Is Vodacom selective about it's data warnings? It can be said that out of data bundle rates are more expensive than buying data. If one does not have a data bundle, one's airtime is depleted at an accelerated rate. Therefore more money in for the company as more airtime will need to be purchased.

I recharge almost every second day. I do not remember ever getting a pop up notification on my frequently used number that I am using an out of bundle rate. Maybe because it's because I recharge so often and it's known that I'll need to buy more data. So more money out of me.
But why the selective notifications?

I am not rich. And I am sure I cannot spend another R55 and on airtime which I humbly hoped would carry me through into the next week.

Come on Vodacom. Be consistent. I once had a query over the "You have 4.29mb left of your data bundle" message which I stopped receiving and I was told that it's a complementary message. Alright. But this? How can you justify only warning certain customer's numbers. Also strange that I only get notifications on a number I never recharge whereas I never get notifications on the number I recharge with hundreds on every month ? I AM PAYING ON THIS NUMBER.

I would like to have this problem looked into and rectified. And I would like to be compensated For the airtime advance I now have to purchase as I do not have other means of buying data at 8pm - I have to stay connected.

I am not being unreasonable. I have been a Vodacom customer ever since I got my first mobile phone and have always returned to using the network as the coverage is good, the service is excellent most of the time and the data bundles are reasonable. I'd love to remain part of the innovative Vodacom family and being part of a great service but if my hard earned money doesn't pay for itself, I'd rather choose saving money than wasting.
