Rude Consultants, Breach of Contract

My SIM locked, I had to enter the PUK. I chose a new PIN. On confirmation, it returned to the previous screen to enter the PUK. Confused, I tried again. Same thing occured. 6 attempts left I took it to Vodacom. visited the 4U store on Saturday where I was assisted by Lerato.

She tried the same and the same occured. She confirmed that something was wrong with the SIM itself. With one attempt left she said that I need a SIM Swop. I aggreed but had to come in the next day as I didnt have an ID with me.

I returned to the store and they tried it on the last attempt. The phone was blocked & it did not register on the network. When doing the SIM Swop she said that the cost would be R89. I could not comprehend paying R89 for an issue that was not my fault. The SIM was damaged. The SIM given to me by Vodacom which I already paid for. When disputing this Lerato said, she understands & she doesnt know why we have to pay for the SIM Swop. She said its not our fault, but its also not Vodacom's fault. Where does that leave me? I ended up paying R89.

I expect someone to give me a call to explain why I had to pay for Vodacom's fault - R89. This violates the customer protection act.
