Rude consultant with no product knowledge

Vodacom's latest marketing **** says - Here's to the next 30 years of wonderful.

In 30 years they have not grasped the basic requirements for service delivery and you want to tell me 30 years of wonderful. I just wished that more people actually saw this ridiculous badly rated service provider.

I received a call from Vodacom online sales team and brought up something about a mail that was sent in April about pricing and changes, we are in September now. That is a ridiculous amount of team in between to reference a mail. I was offered a upgrade data deal for a certain amount but when I queried why is this almost the same price as a new contract with a lot more data available her answer was it is what my system says. I knew from here on I would be dealing with a "parrot", someone that has a list of questions on a piece of paper / screen and cannot think outside that and scope or have the product knowledge to answer actual questions. I queried if I can think about it and confirm in a couple days or is this a September only deal. This took 3 explanations that a 3 year old would understand the 1st time.

I declined the offer because I would like to be presented with more than one option. She did not even check if I had any questions, she started rambling of on the new deal T&C etc. I asked her why can't she offer me a device with the upgrade and her answer was I am on a data contract and you cannot make calls with a data sim so Vodacom stopped selling mobile devices with their data sims. I said that is nonsense because I am able but airtime and call with my data sim, she confirmed I have a data only contract. When I mentioned that I need to go think about it because you are forcing me into a new 2 year commitment for a data contract that is about the same price as new better contract. I asked the question what benefit(s) do I get for being a Vodacom customer for 20 years as I am not getting better pricing / deals that a new customer. Maybe you, VODACOM, can answer that question for me.

She had no interest in telling me about any products and slammed the phone down on me when I declined her pushy offer.

I called back to retrieve the recording of our conversation and every department I got transferred to from Customer service to online sales but no one could assist me. I was told by the last person I spoke to that this will be escalated to a manager and I will get feedback. I insisted that she confirms what time of feedback I will receive, an email or will someone actually call me or is it the normal I will escalate it but the email is never sent. She assured me that someone will call me, this was also on recording but let me guess when I request this one it is conveniently not available.

Vodacom is getting worse and worse every year.
