Rude Agent, Refused Escalation & Dropped Call

Extremely disappointed with Vodacom Technical Helpdesk. Dimpho was arrogant, dismissive, and repeatedly spoke over me, refusing to listen. She stated that her team leader, Avela, ‘does not want to speak to me,’ and aggressively demanded payment despite my debit order being scheduled for the 1st of the month. She then deliberately dropped the call. This conduct reflects a serious lack of professionalism, customer care, and leadership accountability. Vodacom’s urgent intervention is required to resolve this matter and address the behaviour experienced.

Reviewer Update
Dear Vodacom,

Unfortunately, the level of service that once distinguished Vodacom as a premium provider has significantly diminished.

While I acknowledge that I did receive follow-up calls from Vodacom, none of these engagements resulted in a meaningful resolution of my complaint. Instead, I was met with repeated apologies that, regrettably, did nothing to address or rectify the actual problem. Apologies, without action or accountability, do not resolve customer issues.

It has become evident that I was expected to concede to Vodacom’s internal processes and priorities, placing the company’s convenience above that of the customer. This approach is both disappointing and unacceptable. Ultimately, I was left with no choice but to attempt to resolve the matter myself—an outcome that directly contradicts the very purpose of customer support.

With regard to accountability, I will not accept a vague or generic response concerning my experience. Being informed that the matter will be “handled internally” offers me no reassurance or remedy. I am the customer, and I am entitled to transparency, respect, and a clear explanation of how my concerns will be addressed in a way that directly benefits me.

Vodacom’s reputation was built on trust, professionalism, and customer-centric service. My recent experience reflects a worrying departure from these values. I expect a concrete response outlining corrective action, not further apologies or internal reassurances.

I trust this matter will now be treated with the seriousness it warrants.

Regards
