Router can only be used for Vodacm

I complained to Vodacom as the router with which they supp**** me, would not work with any sim other than Vodacom. Despite my complaint and several visits to Vodacom shops, my problem has not been resolved.

I complained to HelloPeter on 23-01-2017 and on the same day received the following response:

“Kindly have the router booked in at your nearest Vodacom Repairs store to have the network lock removed from the device. You may also call Repairs Escalations on ********** for assistance with this.”

On 12-02-2017 there was no technician at the Wonderboom Junction Vodacom shop when I went there to have the problem attended to.

On 13-02-2017 the technician at the Wonderboom Junction Vodacom shop told me he could not remove the lock on my router but confirmed that their Collonade branch could do so.

Taking the router to the Collonade branch of Vodacom is inconvenient as it is out of my way.

On 15-02-2017 Musi, the technician at the Collonade Vodacom shop told me he could not remove the lock on my router.

I am not at all impressed by the poor service and unnecessary inconvenience that I experienced and I find the practice of blocking other service providers’ sims to be ********* and anti-competitive!

I expect that Vodacom supplies me with a router that is not blocked.

On receipt I shall return the unit that was supp**** to me at the outset of my contract with the Vodacom.
