Router can only be used for Vodacm

Close to two years ago I was phoned by a Vodacom representative who offered me a LTE router with 2GB data.

Due to poor service by Vodacom, I have started using data from other service providers.

I found that if I inserted the sim card of a non-Vodacom service provider in the router that it would not provide me acces to the Internet.

I called Vodacom to complain about this shortcoming.

I was then informed that the router was locked to only use Vodacom sim cards and that there was nothing that they could do about it.

Had I known that the router would only be usable for Vodacom data I would have not bought it.

I find this practice to be ********* and anti-competitive!

If Vodacom cannot correct the shortcoming in the router, I want the contract to be terminated and a refund for the router.
