Robbing Senior Citizens

I attach some of my correspondence with Vodacom and their employees

They do not seem to worry about robbing senior citizens

Good Morning Mr. F

Regarding the contract/cell phone number/account No ********** 127.

It seems that Vodacom is not understanding the problem.

This, in red, was my correspondence with “Vodacom”.

It seems like Vodacom is out to rob senior pensioners of their pension moneys.

The problem is not to just cancel contract/cell phone number/account No ********** 127, the problem is that this contract/cell phone number/account No ********** 127 was *******ly allocated to their name.

They did not understand or hear what the operator had to say.

On the 07th of November 2016 you charged an additional payment of R 4 998,18 for Airtime Subscription Charges!

It is not an account that they wanted in the first place, but an account that you just readily allocated to their name! Now they have to pay for the cancellation and for the additional contract fees for the year?

I am placing this on Hello Peter again for the people of your country and for the people of all other countries to see how you treat the senior citizens in your country.

I expect an answer.

Regards

Good day

Invoice Number :- K **********

Date:- 25/Aug/2016

Account Number:- ********** 5

Reference Number:- **********

To Whom it May Concern

On the evening of the 24th of August Mrs WB received a call from your “Clientele Call services” concerning “upgrades” to their Vodacom account. Mr and Mrs B are senior people (85/86) and hard hearing. They do not understand English very well. They did not understand/hear any of which the operator explained on the phone. They however made it clear that they do not understand and that they do not wish to acquire any additional products.

The following day a package was delivered, by Vodacom personnel, on their doorstep with the message that it is a gift from Vodacom for them being loyal clients of Vodacom for many years. They were forced to accept and sign for delivery. It was not explained that the receipt of the Vodacom Tab 10 actually constitutes an additional contract and that they would have to pay additional monthly expenses. My parents already have a contract and do not need any additional product.

A cellphone notification was received by my parents for extra charges. After enquiring at their service provider they were informed that the extra charges are due to the “new product” and the resulting contract they “purchased”.

I conclude that the operator on the evening of the 24th of August 2016 deliberately sold a new contract to them which they did not approve. It was not their intention to purchase a product and made it clear that they do not understand.

A complaint was already lodged to your ********** number and the reference number to this complaint is Ref:- ********** .

Details of new product.

********** 127

Account number: I **********

Last recharge date 26 Aug 2016

Since 31 Aug 2016

R 199.00

Due on 29 Sep 2016

R 481.55

Upgrade due on 26 May 2018 Set a reminder

Contract end date 25 Aug 2018

Plan MyGig 5 Promo@R259 24M TopUp

Below are the monthly charges indicating the sharp increase due to the unwanted product.

April 543.94

Mei 610.00

June 449.66

July 818.29

Aug 675.14

Sep 1044.75

Your urgent attention to the matter will be appreciated. Please reverse the transaction, all charges and collect the product.
