Roaming not working

I called Vodacom to ensure by roaming was setup before I went overseas. I was told all in order. <br> I arrive and nothing working. No smss nor outgoing or incoming calls. <br> I sent messages via email and Facebook, useless customer service. My husband keeps calling and each time they tell him something different. Meanwhile I'm stuck in aa u try where I have needed my phone and I don't have one. Shocking! I'm so unimpressed especially with their support!
