Roaming Can't be Set Up by Vodacom

I have been with Vodacom for a long while now; never experienced any real problem to mention. Good service. I now work in the Republic of Guinea, with my home base in Cape Town. My family is back in Cape Town. For 48 days now, I've been trying to resolve my roaming issue with Vodacom - I cannot call my family back home, I cannot receive calls from anyone, I cannot send or receive SMS. Vodacom has been doing all sorts of things; so I'm not criticising their effort. But after 48 days, my problem still exists. I had a moment of success on 16 November 2017, when something they did, worked... I could do everything except only to receive calls (I could make calls, send and receive SMS). Now, we're back to square one - I can do nothing. As an expat, I need to stay in contact with life back home. With this problem, people can't phone me; they email me to say my number does not exist anymore, and generally this is a major inconvenience. I fail to understand how a major company cannot solve this issue for me. I have followed every instruction they've given me. Switching phone off, removing SIM card, waiting 24 hrs, trying again, manually selecting Guinean service providers on Vodacom's roaming system, etc., etc., etc. As I said, it basically worked on 16 November... but now we're right back to the start of this issue. My family is travelling on 2 December and they won't be able to quickly and easily phone me, if there is an emergency. They'll have to be inconvenienced by looking for a Wi-Fi spot, or switch on their data and pay large sums of money to make contact with me. Further, each time I refer to receiving a refund for the lack of ability to use my phone, and hence paying a monthly fee for nothing, I receive no feedback to that query... each email I send, it met with an apology and a message to say they have escalated my problem. Guys, it's been 48 days since I first asked for help. What else am I now supposed to do here? I suppose the logical next step is to terminate my subscription with Vodacom and move to a competitor... maybe they have people and systems that will allow me to actually be able to phone my family in SA, and receive calls from them.
