R102 per MB. If you were to take one photograph in Mauritius and send it to a loved one, it would cost you more than R100. If it was a high quality photo, it would cost you R800. ONE PHOTO!!!!!
Has any South Africans wonder why we pay average charges for data in South Africa whilst Roaming charges are obscene. I call Vodacom find out what the breakdown of cost was. For example, If I uses a Zaine Network provider in Mozambique to call South Africa, How much of that cost was Vodacom charging and how much was Zaine charging.
Vodacom was not going to tell me. (Surprised???)
Within South Africa, Data rates are 29c (in bundle), therefore, to got to Mauritius, it would cost 351 times more. Why do you think that Vodacom hides the breakdown of cost? I think the answer is obvious.

I know that when you travel to the DRC, it's cheaper to buy a local sim to call South Africa than it is to use Roaming (a lot cheaper!), therefor Vodacom cannot justify the insane prices on local service providers of that county.

As an aside, I laid a complaint about Vodacom unilaterally raising prices on top of contracts. They only reply when the complaint is public as my private reply wasn't answered.
