Ridiculous unjustified data charges by Vodacom

I have been a Vodacom customer for more than 15 years now and have multiple contracts with them. One of my contracts is a tablet with data bundles of 2Gig per month, average data usage on this contract has been within the range of +/-R300 per month. All of a sudden in August I was billed about R3 000 and in September about R6 000.

On the 13th September I called Vodacom call centre to query these invoices and asked for the explanation of this ridiculous charges plus the details of how did they arrive on those amounts and the sites visited because I know for the fact that I have not abused my data, the consultant said on Vodacom systems they cannot tell me what happened to my account therefore she cannot give the answers but she will escalate for investigation, she will call me back before close of business. After staying on the line with her for 30 minutes, she provided me with a reference number ********** 47 over the phone and also sent sms to the effect. She never called back as promised and no one from Vodacom ever called..

On the 14th September I followed up by another phone call to their call centre the consultant told me that that reference number provided does not exist (disappointing), I stayed on the line for 30 minutes for nothing with the previous consultant). Therefore, I need to log another query, I went through the same process again she also told me that she cannot see on the system what happened on my account for the course and reasons for these exorbitant bills and another reference number was given 1- ********** 7090 and someone from Vodacom will call me.

Later on the 14th September, I decided to go to the Vodacom shop where I took the contracts with the hope that they may be able to trace of what is going on this account .The gentleman I found, tried to assist he registered my profile for an itemised bill which was sent to my e-mail address which does not make sense to me. I would like to see which sites were visited to move from a R300 bill toR3 000 and R6 000 in 1 month. Just a like a mobile phone you see which numbers you called how much you spent on the call. I cannot just take R6 000 bill, with no raw supporting data behind it, as this bill is now starting to escalate in this rate what's next, which means I must expect a R10 000 bill in October.

I would like this matter to be investigated I feel like I have been taken for a ride here.

Thank you Hellopeter, for your assistance, much appreciated.

Thanks Vodacom for your response however my questions are still not answered how did you arrive at the invoiced amounts? On a cell phone account you indicate contact number dialed, date, time and charge why can't you give me the same with data usage.

Secondly, how did you arrive at the amount that you say you will credit my account with.

Thirdly, why do you chose to credit my account, you have debited my bank account and put me in a worse off financial position my budget is messed up because of your debits . I will appreciate if you can deposit it back into my bank account this month still that's where you took my money. I need that money now not in a form of some credit amount I have bills to pay.

Thank you.
