Rethink taking a vodacom data contract
I have a data contract with vodacom. Every month, my paments have been timeous. From approximately the 25th of Feb 2024, my internet line has been down. As I do work online, I purchased data which is very costly, in addition to me paying for a data contract that wasn't working.
This continued During the week following the 25th Feb, which resulted in me spending a lot of money purchasing data bundles. My local vodcom store attempted to assist me to no avail. For the last week in Feb, there was a substantial amount of data left on my data contract , which was forfeited as a result of my internet not working and me being unable to use a service I have paid for
On the 1st of March the data for the new month was loaded, and to my dismay once again I was unable to use the service, as I "don't have any data of funds". My debit went off my banking account and the data shows on the app. When logging in to my wifi I am redirect to a page that states no data or funds.
I had a 10 hour course on March 2nd, which I had to purchase data for on a separate number. This further expense motivated me to call vodacom directly. 2 calls later, they don't have any solution for me, except for saying to me that it appears fine on their side.
I'm paying for a service that I am unable to access in any way shape or form, and what's worse is that when I check usage on the data number it shows over 50 gigs of data being used over the past week, when I did not have access to the data in question
It is extremely difficult for me to purchase more data as data is very expensive, and I've spent a considerable amount of money already in addition to my contract.
My advice to anyone seeking to obtain a contract with Vodacom is to look at other networks, as previously on MTN I have never experienced this dissimal level of customer service.
