Resolution through aggravation

I recently won a small electricity discount on the Vodapay app through the V-UP Promotion. But when I tried to redeem it, I kept getting errors (‘problem on OUR side, try again later’). I reached out to Vodapay on X, and after a long back-and-forth—sending screenshots, following every instruction—they still couldn’t resolve the issue. They logged a ticket, claimed they tried to call (with no voicemail), and then closed it without helping.

This wasn’t just about the small reward; it’s about customer support that prioritizes ‘resolution through aggravation’—frustrating customers until they give up. I expected a quick, simple fix, but instead, Vodapay failed to honor their own promotion. They can take the win, their mission accomplished, because I give up.

Despite being contacted by Vodapay support, the issue remains unresolved. Instead of simply reissuing the R30 electricity coupon I was entitled to, they insist on conducting a lengthy investigation. This approach highlights their focus on rigid procedures over resolving a minor issue quickly and efficiently. I gave them a second chance, only to have my time wasted yet again. While I earned the reward, it seems they were determined from the outset to prevent me from redeeming it. Another successful mission accomplished by VodaCON

What feedback would that be, that I didn't get the reward because I didn't buy electricity. What part of receiving an error in trying to redeem is not clear to you guys? Spare me the rhetoric. You will not improve, because if you cannot rectify small problems, where will you ever have the will for bigger issues. Your place on HelloPeter is low and inundated with complaints because Vodacom suffers from bad service, lack of commitment and a no-fault attitude.
