Requesting some investigation into my issue for ***

I tried to find a way to end my contract. I've liased with their lawyers, customer service, cancellations departments, collections department and the ecustomer service. I have called Cancellations twice in attempts to end my contract. I have been requested to pay again and pay the arrears (which is not my fault. I was given wrong information from Cancellations department in early October, after 2 October). If I mis-heard her full information to pay R202 in October 2019 (I'm sure I would have jumped out of my skin hearing this), then I humble myself, upon hearing of the recording, and will gladly pay you, Vodacom.

I have been unemployed since February 2017 (worked until January 2017). I was diagnosed with a mental disorder. I was healing and recovering and rehabilitating. I tried in-between to work full time and as a normal person should but my health would suffer again. I hoped all my efforts with hustling, working when my health allowed & borrowing from friends and loved ones would help. Unfortunately misinformation in October 2019 threw me a curveball. I don't work and have borrowed from everyone I know and love already. How does Vodacom deal with people defaulting who are unemployed and who have fallen ill and cannot honour their contracts any longer?

I have heard rumours of people calling to say they can no longer pay and having amounts waivered. It seems the only way to achieve this is to write to the CEO of vodacom. BUT I don't want a free way out. I want them to investigate and see that I was informed incorrectly, admit the mistake and take accountable action for it. If it means an apology from the CEO and him looking into his employees training, that would make me MORE happy than not having to paying for someone else's mistake. Two hundred and two rand is now again needed to end my contract in November. I hope I can find someone to help me this time.

I've liased with their lawyers, customer service, cancellations departments, collections department and the ecustomer service. I have called Cancellations twice. I have been healing, recovering and rehabilitating while doing odd jobs from home when I could manage and when I could find clients. Most jobs were small. I am a graphic designer. I fell into arrears, my account was handed to Collections and I worked with the lawyers to pay up. This was 2 October 2019. All this correspondence is in black and white on email.

I called after 2 October to cancel my contract with Vodacom's Cancellations department & was told to pay a last instalment (it was a new month and I understood this unfortunate fact) & she said I would then have to call again to cancel. Lady NEGLECTED to say I was already out of contract window (it ran month to month) & the amount payable was different: it was two and half times MORE! R202! Yet my contract cost me R80. This is not my fault, the R80 was paid into my account on the last day of October. I'm struggling. I'm unhappy, anxious, feel trapped.

I will be glad for a Training Drive by Vodacom for their in-house and outsourced call centres; looking into the quality of training and delivering us South Africans with something to brag about.

I'd feel like a person if they look into my case and see if I or the Cancellations customer care are at fault and handle it appropriately. If I mis-heard her full information to pay R202, I will gladly pay you, Vodacom.

I don't expect you to understand my life issues or to accommodate them because I understand you're a business entity. I'm an adult and must honour my contracts. I have'nt even been using this number for anything since about August or September 2019, when my SIM snapped in half. I did not replace it because I was going to cancel the contract.

Anyway. I paid. Tried cancelling but subscription collections were closed and customer care guys have no access to note on my account on their system that I called at 15:47 22 November 2019 to cancel and note that payment was at 15:07 into the Vodacom account.

I wish bonuses were cut in half at least, if they have bonuses, and invested in their systems and call centre employees training.

I will now forward my email I've been saving for Mr Joosub. I'm sure he doesn't know that his call centre abilities plummeted by 100% since the early 2000s... I've been with them forever. I'm not just ending my contract, I'm ending my loyalty with vodacom and so will my family and never can my self, my soul, my mind consider using them for any future businesses which I've had to think deeply about.

Losing my mind and jobs was a kind of blessing revealing ineffective relationships and partnerships.

I called Collections first ting this morning, thanks. They could not see my payment and Vuti in Collections said I should email ***

I hope it doesn't drag past the end of this month which is looming. I'm anxious to end my contract.

I've emailed *** as well because I feel I need witnesses about my actions taken to get this done. My first correspondence came back because of bad language in which I stated "...i feel I need to cover my ass". These things are noted by myself. I sent a new message this morning to ***.

I will try Collections again tomorrow. And multiple times a day until it reflects so that I can finally call Cancellatons (for my last time) and cancel my contract.

You mention above about improvements in the business....perhaps emphasise empathy. I called Collections this morning to say I paid. Paid R203. The bill was R202 and a few cents. I round off amounts to the bigger number. Towards the end of the call Vuti reads me something, for my education, and proceeds. It is like listening to the commentator at an auction...I made out some words: fees, arrears, R10 for each..., and I ask him why he's reading this now when I am calling to say I've paid. Perhaps it's his duty. It's the first time I heard anyone on the call from vodacom read me something like this. Perhaps it pops up on a screen to flag that I'm a recurring bad debt customer....no thanks to misinformation from yourself, VODACOM. But that surely wasn't noted, not once, on your system. Can your system even take Annotations...Is there a Customer tab with notes, annotations of each call over the years, interactions, any administration?

It's known that in our country our systems are lacking. But this is a private entity, right?

Anyway, I hope the quality of help for other customers improve. IT'S REALLY BAD guys. I'm so serious. I'm not even being facetious. I can't imagine the hordes of people on here getting the same "Apology" without any indication that you've even read the thing. No personalisation. Is it too much effort?

All I can say is Praise God, He is bigger than our struggles and I believe we South Africans should try to be better than overseas. I don't know what happened with Vodacom but it's in God's hands.

Update:
The turnaround time for *** will take me into December so Vuti didn't think thoroughly.

Lady today gave me their team leaders email to escalate si that I can cancel this thing.

I hope *** will help me end it all in November 2019.
