Request for Clarification and Resolution Regarding Kwika Device

Dear [Kwika Support/Customer Care]

I purchased a Kwika device two months ago. At first, I was excited because I had saved up for a long time to finally afford it. Unfortunately, the device has not worked out for me as I expected. I then decided that I could sell it to recover some of my money, since I will no longer be using it. However, I was told that I am not allowed to sell the device, and that it now belongs to me “forever.” This does not make sense to me. I paid R499 of my hard-earned money for the device—surely that means I have the right to decide what to do with it, including selling it if I choose. I also cannot recall seeing any Terms and Conditions in the advert or at the time of purchase that stated I would not be allowed to resell the device. Please kindly provide me with the official Terms and Conditions where this rule is stated, as I cannot understand how this could be enforced. R499 is not a small amount of money, and it is very concerning that I am left with a product that I cannot use and am being told I cannot sell. I need a clear resolution to this matter and a fair explanation. I look forward to your urgent response.

Kind Regards

Any feedback yet regarding my complaint? Still waiting for a callback. This is honestly the worst service I've ever received from any company. Still waiting for the part on T&C's where it states I will not be able to sell the Kwika device.

I am extremely disappointed that I still have not received any feedback regarding the issue I raised about my Kwika device. How is it possible that one can spend hard-earned money on a product, only to later be told it cannot be resold? Who exactly decided on this rule at Vodacom? Was the selling of the Kwika device simply an easy money-making scheme?

Customers, including myself, have been misled. There is a Vodapay App that allows the exact same transactions at no cost. How would other customers feel if they realized they could have done everything the device offers — for free?

In my entire life, I have never experienced service this poor from any company. Vodacom has done absolutely nothing to resolve my issue. I even have a screenshot of the T’s & C’s (point 28) mentioning merchant changes — does this not mean that selling the device should count as a merchant change? Honestly, selling this device would feel like robbing someone of their money, because I know Vodapay offers the same services without extra cost.

My Kwika device was already sent to the East Rand Mall branch some time ago, yet I have received no update on its return. The lack of communication, accountability, and service is beyond unacceptable.

Vodacom’s customer service has been pathetic, and this entire experience has been nothing short of appalling. I will never recommend Vodacom to anyone.
