Repudiation of Claim

I submitted an insurance claim to Vodasure for a lost phone. I was insured with a different phone and when upgrading in December my insurance cover was transferred to the new phone. I never used my personal sim card on that phone instead I used my work sim card. I asked the sales person if it was fine to do so and she said yes. When I claim now I am told that i should have used my sim card in the handset insured. I thought I was insuring the phone and not sim card. The next issue now is that I cannot insure the old phone again as told by Celeste and I dont understand that because it means that now I do not have an insured phone should anything happen to my phone.
