Repairs and Handset *****
I handed my 2 week old new Note 8 handset in for a touch issue on the 22nd Oct. The repair technician then advised he needs to replace the touch panel and some other parts as well. I advised I am not happy with having a brand new phone repaired and will deal directly with Samsung on a swop out unit, so do not repair or replace parts, I will collect it.
When I collected the phone on the 24th Oct, I noticed many scratches on the entire LCD. I refused to take the phone because when I handed in the unit it was practically brand new. Being the cautious person I was, I took pictures of the handset before handing it in, I spoke to the consultation to bubblewrap it securely and I spoke to the technician at length to please handle my unit with care. From new, the phone was kept in a flip cover and I value my assets that I work hard for.
To make matters worse, the original job card did not have any comments on when I signed it, it actually stated no scratches on the front and back. But when I collected the phone , new comments with a different pen was **********ly inserted on the job card, which I took a picture of as evidence, together with all the pics I took when handing in the phone.
It is very disappointing , ******* and disgusting that a Vodacom store would go to this lengths to cover up the damages they caused to my phone, this is totally unacceptable and must take accountability for their workmanship, or lack thereof.
I want my phone back in the exact condition that I handed in the unit, I expect no less as I pay premium money for this handset.
I refused to take the phone, I booked it in again until this matter is sorted.
