Repairing a Phone not "as good as New"

On the 11th November I renewed my contract and received a Sony Xperia XZ.

I liked the phone but there was always something slightly off about the touch screen.

It took me 22 days to realized that the touch screen had a desensitized area.

I went into Vodaworld to report it and as it was a factory failure, wanted a new phone. I was informed that I would be without a phone for 7 days while they sent it off to confirm my statement. This would take me into the holiday season. I could not do without a phone for so long during Christmas as they had no loaners.

I did not leave the phone.

On the 16th of January, I finally handed the phone in to Vodaworld to confirm my statement and I informed them I did not want that phone back but replaced as it was a factory failure. They had no loaner. I still handed in the phone.

I went back the next day and they could finally lend me a cheap phone.

On Friday, the 29th they returned my original phone promising me it was "As good as new" even though I told them it was not and that I had stated that I wanted a new phone. They said it was not their policy.

This morning, 1st February, I noticed the screen lifting off my phone. The service, which I did not request, was not "Good as New".

How many times must I go through this until Vodaworld realize that the phone they gave me is a dud and they replace it once and for all. This is not what I want or expect for a R13000 phone

I have been a loyal customer with Vodacom sine 1994 and I have noticed each upgrade of my contract the service gets worse.

I want my factory failed, repair failed, phone replaced.

Hi

Vodacom posted that they will be contacting me. They have not yet. It is over 2 hours since they said they would.

In the mean time dust and other enviromental items are gaining access to the inner workings of my phone via the gab between the screen and the phone.

The longer it takes to resilve the issue, the worse it is getting

It is now over 6 hours and I still have not received the promised call.

Vodacom does not actually appear to be a provider that responds dispite the prompt automated response.
