repair too expensive

I have a Vodafone smart ultra 7 that I have been happy with until recently when the phones speaker did not work anymore,always receiving excellent service from Vodacom I decided to send the phone in to have the speaker replaced. They quoted me round about R1600 for the speaker which I find is completely crazy as the speaker should have been under warranty as the phone was still under warranty, I refuse to have the repair done as I have been a client for years with Vodacom, and the phone shortly after I got it on my upgrade cracked at the bottom of the screen which is not my fault as the phone was in a cover as soon as I got the phone and that is a closed cover with a flap so that tells me that the phone is poorly made. Now I have to put up with this phone until I upgrade again and that is if I don't move to another service provider. I am very disappointed in the service that I have received from the repair center and Vodacom. I will look for my own speaker but I doubt I will stay with Vodacom after this.
