Repair device returned damaged
On 23 September I booked my Huawei P8 lite in for repairs at Vodacom Greenacres as the Bluetooth and wifi was not working. The store tried to do a software update on the unit but that was unsuccessful. I was then advised that the unit needs to be sent to JHB for repairs. The device was inspected and only a very fine hair crack was noted around the speaker area by the consultant. Since booking the device no one from Vodacom kept in contact with me until I enquired about the unit on Friday 13 October, upon which I learnt that the phone was already back from JHB and ready for collection. I immediately went to the store to discover that the keypad was now completely non functional and the phone had several scratch marks and chips on the glass protector and the LCD is also cracked now. The consultant acknowledged that the phone was not received back from repairs in the same condition as it was sent and referred it to the manager. On Monday the manager [ Brandon ] contacted me and advised that the liability lies with the courier company and Vodacom is not liable for fixing it, he will not repair or replace my unit. My request herewith, Vodacom needs to take responsibility for the damage which was caused to this device and rectify this wrong with either repairing or replacing the unit.
Thanks
