Repair cost suddenly changes

a Months ago I accidentally broke my phones screen as I have home insurance that covers my phone I had to send in my phone for a repair quote so I could give it to the insurance. I booked my phone in at Vodacom on the 15th of January and the lady said they'll call me back when the quote arrives. 3 weeks later on 3rd of February the my son went to the Vodacom shop to ask if the quote had arrived yet but they said no it didn't. Friday the 5 February I was shopping and decided to pop in and asked if they had found out anything about my phone and they told me that the quote had been laying there for th past 3 days and they said that this was the last day this quote was valid so I told them to they could go on with repairing my phone the quote was for R1900. a Week later someone from Vodacom called me to ask if they should repair the phone and that the repair cost had gone up to R2400. I do not know why their is suddenly a price increase or why the phone hasn't been repaired as I explicitly told the lady at Vodacom to get the phone repaired along time ago. This phone is on contract at vodacom that ends May 2016 and i wanted to renew my contract but after this service I decided not to
