Rejected Insurance claim

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for the last 10 years.. My recent experience at Vodacom has been appalling. Prior to December 2015 I had a contract with Vodacom for a iPHONE 5S, I upgraded to a 6S plus with Chat Cellular in December 2015. I have always had my insurance with Vodacom. In April 2017 the iPhone 6s + was damaged and need to be repaired or replaced. The following was my experience i received with the call center in trying to submit an insurance claim for the device. Firstly the person that took my call was extremely rude and did not provide a professional service. As per the consultant that too My call, he rejected my claim starting that, the new IMEI number was not linked to the insurance. As far as I am aware my primary sim needed to be used in the device that was taken out in the contract, i have always used this simm in this device and hence assumed that this device was always insured. I don't believe that its my responsibility to link an IMEI to my insurance has I expect that this should have been done when i upgraded to my new contract. The fact that I have been paying on a monthly basis and I have never defaulted in any month, I don't see why my claim should be rejected. In addition to the above I requested Vodacom to provide a quote to repair the device, the quote that was provided to me was for R6880, the next day I received a quote from incredible Connection for R3500, how is this possible to have such a Huge difference in the repair cost.
