REJECTED CLAIM BY VODACOM

Good Morning

I app**** for a Vodacom contract phone in April 2018,I have been paying for the past 24 months until my contract ended on April 2020, my device was insured.

At the beginning of April I called in to cancel my contract and I enquired on how I can insure my device since it’s moving to prepaid. I was sent insurance application forms via email. Internet Cafes were closed at that time and I called in again to ask if the vodacom shops were open so that I can do application at the store, that morning Vodacom had already sent me an sms stating that they were open during the lockdown for emergencies and the lady at the customer service also confirmed that they are open.

Unfortunately before the end of April my device was lost. I called in to blacklist the device, claimed over the phone and I was advised to go to a Vodacom shop for a new device.

My frustrations are, Vodacom **** and also the customer service consultants **** again about the shops being open while they know very well it was closed. I have been going to the Vodacom Shop at Workshop (Durban). The store was closed all the time while they have notices on their door for the lockdown operating hours. I have been going there because I was desperate and need the phone urgently. The big part now is, I went to Vodacom( Workshop) again yesterday stood on a long que to get in to the Centre, qued again to the shop and the guy said they can’t help me, the systems are down and was not willing to assist with anything. He told me to come today and they will close at 14:00. Desperate as I was I woke up early again this morning just to avoid any delays. Those long ques again, went inside the shop and I was assisted by a guy named Lunga, he told me to come tomorrow as the insurance is closed. What ****es me off is that I have been trying to reach to vodacom without any help and all the people there (customer service agents and store consultants) don’t advise of operating hours or anything they’re all lying.

So now again for weeks I’m without a phone because Vodacom is not being loyal to me, meanwhile I have honored my agreement with them. My contract was fully paid and successfully cancelled but I have been running around for my claim.
