refused to sell item for price advertised

I walked into this store and looked at the Voda smart tab advetrised on the display table for R999.I asked for one and completed all paperwork.When it was time to pay,I was told that I needed to pay R1199.I told him that the display table said R999 and that is the price I am willing to pay.When I walk into a shop because of a price advertised,then the item must be sold to me at that price.I am appalled at the attitude he gave me saying that their systems are updating with new prices. Whose problem is it then,I am not interested in their internal systems.I then remembered that Vodacom service is always had,hence the reason I moved my contracts. Pls send your staff on more training and teach them the intricasies of service and consumer rights.
