Refusal to fix Z1

I had purchased a Sony Z1 on contract just over a year ago. The screen had randomly cracked without being dropped. I had run to a number of Vodacom stores who refused to help after many hours of waiting. This is a common problem and a simple internet search shows that this is not the only case of this happening on this models of phone. The guarantee lasts a year but the phone gives up after a year? What sort of marketing scheme is this? Vodacom and Sony do not maintain products. After I spoke to one salesmen at a completely different branch he told me that it is the digitizer or touch pad that is broken and not the LCD so it can easily be fixed. Managers of the vodacares try to dodge unhappy customers and I am still waiting for many to call back. I am sick and tired of this and will escalate my complaints. A simple repair which should be covered especially when Sony and Vodacom know it is a common problem. Samsung offers services to their consumers and at this point I would rather swop for better service at a lower price. I can be reached on any of the details on my profile should anyone even bother to follow up the request.
