Refusal to cancel my contract that has reached it conclusion

My contract has concluded, and I'm calling the customer care to cancel the contract. The guy on the call simply refuses to cancel my contract and keeps selling me new contracts. I started by being polite to the guy, for over 5 minutes I'm telling that I just simply want a cancellation. The guy refused and eventually dropped the phone on me without processing the cancellation. Can I simply cancel my contract in peace and have my number of prepaid? Or are you telling me there's no way out of a Vodacom contract? A contract that has concluded its 24 months contract period?

It is like the agents are deliberately avoiding to be the ones cancelling contracts because this is used as a measure against their ability to retain clients, when I have already made up my mind that what I want is to cancel the contract. This sucks from a customer experience perspective, cause I spent minutes "begging" this guy to cancel my contract (that I have already served the full contract term for), and he eventually drops a call on me without doing so. Frustrating!!!

All the complaints have the same "copy and paste" response, in just a name of having "responded". Anyway, I called again and was assisted by a different consultant this time, Thabile Ndlovu. She was more helpful and more respective than the original agent that answered my call. As a result, she was able to retain me. For the other agent, he was just plain pain in the @$$
