Really bad service (Unable to use my MTN number for my Vodacom contract)

<p>In October 2015, My fiance decided to take over her late son's contract as he had passed away the month before and she never had the money to pay the contract up in full. We asked the consultant at the Vodacom Picbel store in Strand Street Cape Town if she would then be able to use her existing contract number, with MTN, and she said there would be no problem as long as that contract was paid up in full and the number was ported to prepaid. After paying the cancelation fee with MTN, which was significantly less than the Vodacom amount, she decided to port the number over to Vodacom. We were then told that this has to have been done within the first month when the contract was taken or else there is no way she could have a specific number allocated to this contract. Now my question is this, If you can do it in the first month What is the reason you cant do it afterwards? I need some assistance with this issue ASAP as she is now paying for a phone that she can only play games with.</p>
