Reader beware when its time to upgrade with Vodacom

I have been a loyal customer for more than a decade. Recently first my data line, then my mobile came up for upgrade.

I chose to cancel my data-I got a better deal somewhere else. Then my mobile line came up for renewal, and what has become a disturbing patrern began to emerge.

They **** to me, and offered me deals which it turns out were too good to be true in order to stop me canceling my contract.

When i discovered the lies, well within the cool down period, i asked them to reverse the process and cancel my line. Then the excuses began.

Its been more than a year now where I've been trying to cancel the lines, and all the while I've been getting charged for these upgrades that should have been reversed. By some miracle, 5 months in they eventually stopped the data line, but I'm still waiting for a refund for data I didn't use.

My mobile line is still active, and I'm being charged ~R300 monthly for a contract that shouldn't be, and a device I returned. in addition, they've not reverted me to my previous package,so I'm have to buy data at ridiculous out of data pricing, because the package i was signed up to only gets 500mb.

I've received no help, and multiple attempts to escalate this issue have failed. I have spoken to multiple line managers and team leaders in customer care, upgrades and cancellations department - all promising to do something,or log a call, or call me back, or take responsibility to help sort it out. The lies continue, i continue getting charged, and I'm fed up. They refuse to give me an email address to raise this issue and refuse to escalate further. I'm at my wits end.
