Reactivation of Cellphone

I wold like to express my concerns with Vodacom. I called your collections department today at 3:34 pm. I had informed the consultant that I unfortunately was unable to pay my account in November 2016 and will be able to pay it on 15 December 2016. He had updated the system for me. However, he started giving me amounts and saying that my account is in arrears. Firstly, where was I in arrears if I had paid an upfront fee i.e a full month’s payment plus activation fee at your Vodacom outlet? This early upgrade happened in September 2016 and I was not informed of this additional payment as it should have shown on my profile and then stopped me of upgrading my phone when they called your credit department. While I was asking these questions to get some more clarity, I was met with a sigh as if to say he was not really interested in assisting me.

Once this early upgrade happened, I got inundated with notifications each month saying that there is a barring of my credit limit with you guys. I nearly flew off my rocker by the 6th call to your company. Each time they said it would be dealt with and I am yet to receive a call from someone at Vodacom saying it has been resolved. But getting back to my actual complaint, when I had arranged for this payment for next Thursday, I asked if my line can be reactivated, and I was told “no you cannot have your line reactivated as your account has to be paid first.” Now understand we are living in the 21st century and we all use cellphones. Now I do not stay with my parents, as I stay alone with my fiancée. If something happens to any of us, there is no way of me being able to contact them or to even send a please call me due to my line being deactivated. In the past I have been able to reactivate it even after I have made payment arrangements. So what has changed now?

Why are your “valued” customers never informed of any changes except for higher bill payments and specials?

Yet again I must say I am disappointed by Vodacom, who always used to go the extra mile for customers, but sadly don’t anymore.

Good day. I am still waiting for you to contact me regarding this problem I had and still have. I did receive a call from an ********** 057 number. Now when I do try and call back (please note that due to my phones being deactivated, I cannot make any calls) this number does not get answered. I need a call back today between 1pm and 2pm as this is the only time I can answer my call. I also request that a manager contact me so I can atleast try and get my lines activated again. Should I not receive a call, I will cancel my contracts and go elsewhere.
