RAM Couriers are bring Vodacom's name down in a big way
I ordered an upgrade to my contract online and it was confirmed by telephone on the 20 April. I was told that the phone will be delivered in 3 to 5 working days. On the 21st April at 8:30 I got a phone from the couriers saying they want to deliver to my house in half an hour, with no prewarning that they were coming and because vodacom told me 3 to 5 working I was not home at that time and asked them to come back at 3PM. They told me no they can't, and I said I won't be home I will be at work the next day either so they can't deliver it then. I then got a phone call from RAM customer care asking me for my work address so they can deliver it to my work address the next day, which I gave them. The next day I then waited until 12pm and phoned RAM to find out where the parcel is, only to find out that it's still in the warehouse because they need vodacom's permission to deliver to a different address which they never told me when asking for my work address in the first place. I then asked them to cancel the change of address and deliver it to the same address on the 25 April which i was assured that would happen. however on the 25th April I had to phone again to find out where it was, and I was told that the cancellation of the change in address had not happened and its still sitting in RAM's warehouse. I asked for the recording of the phone on the 22 April assuring me that it would be delivered on the 25th April to the original address and they put the phone down on me.
I then tried to get hold of Vodacom online directly to cancel the upgrade because I don't like being messed around by unprofessional businesses who don't really want to keep their customers and I also got cut off with no one calling me back.
It really doesn't seem like Vodacom wants to keep me as a customer and considering they allow RAM couriers to give them a bad name with their nonchalant attitude towards upholding a service. I don't want to be in business with companies who don't want to care about their clients. Please can someone call me to sort this out, because my next step is the consumer protection ombudsman.
