R397 and 99MB in 6 minutes...

This morning I connected my laptop online using my phone as a mobile hotspot, doing a dry run for a demo of a Website at 12:00. At 10:11 I receive an SMS stating I have 50MB remaining, so I paid the ridiculous Vodacom rates and loaded another 250mb as a topup and continued my dry run, at 10:42 I received an SMS stating that I have 247mb left (so 53mb in 31 minutes)

At 12:00 I started my demo doing exactly what I did that morning and while speaking the messages started coming in: 12:06 - 99mb remaining 12:06 - 50mb remaining (so 49mb in less than a minute, Vodacom is not that fast) 12:07 - Depleted out of bundle rates (another 50mb in a minute, physically not possible doing the same thing as the morning only using a Website with no streaming or anything) 12:08 - R12.78 used 12:09 - R102.83 used 12:10 - R152.85 used 12:12 - R302.92 used according to the SMS's I then phoned the contact centre and specifically ask if the lady can assist with data charges and she says yes, so I tell my whole story and she replies she can't help she''s transferring me, I then have to tell my whole story again and the lady confirms an out of data charge for R397 not R302.92.

So according to Vodacom I used 99MB and R397 out of bundle data rates in 6 minutes doing the same thing that used 53MB in 31 minutes the morning. It's physically not possible and the call centre agent advises she needs to log a call but I am going to have to pay it and no one can tell me when I can expect an answer.

If Vodacom does not ***** your left over data at the end of the month (and don't tell me it's not *****ing, if I don't finish my bread the supermarket does not come and take it away once I paid for it) then they charge you impossible fees and wash their hands off it. As always nothing with Vodacom goes smooth every single time it's a ***** up. Say bye, bye to this customer since CPA states 32 working days notice and I'm gone with all my Vodacom accounts.
