R28369.98 in 18 days!!

After relocating and unable waiting for wifi to be installed, I realised that I have a vodacom data contract, which i have not used in 2 years. I promptly did a sim swap(the sim was long gone) on 25 April 2017 and was very impressed with the service. My dad gave me small router, which i connected and yeah i was online and connected to the world again. Little did i know that my happiness will be crashed! When the connection was a bit slow on 12 May (before i received my April invoice) i phoned vodacom. The lady was very helpful and advised me that the line is flagged for high usage on their side and Yo the bill is already standing on R 10174.91. After a long fight without much help, i realised that my May bill could also be a problem and asked what the May bill is currently. She told me that it is not available yet. I phoned Vodacom a couple of times and eventually spoke to a gentlemen that told me he will try and assist. Plenty more calls and i spoke to a lady that told me i have to pay the amount but that i can pay it over 2 months! I must make my first payment immediately! I went to the local vodacom shop and paid R 2000 and spoke to another lady at the shop. She advised that she will send a request that they must review the account. After a couple of days, i received an email form a 'no reply' box to advise that they will give me:"

without admission of liability and purely as a ONCE-off gesture of goodwill, Vodacom Service Provider is prepared to credit your account for the amount of R7619.22 (excl VAT) charges reflecting on the May invoice. The gesture is applicable to usage up until then." Great, I thought. i have stopped using the line, bankruptcy is avoided. Then i received my may bill, payable end June. R 18196.07(incl vat)!! This is for the usage from 1 May to 12 May - the day i become aware of the R 10174 bill and switch the device off. I went to the local store again for help. Although the lady looked shocked, it seems to have been a fruitless exercise. Vodacom is quiet. Maybe they are shocked aswell? To put it in perspective: I received a useless itemised billing.. Stating - internet use and then the amount. I have no clue what i did. The device showed a little message box - which could have been a message from Vodacom advising me that the date is excessive, but i had no way of reading the message, because the router dont have that function. What i really dont understand is that this line, for the past 2 years that i did not use it cost me R75 a month. Suddenly a R 10 k and then an T18 k bill? Surely vodacom have a system in place to contact the user and say - hey, your bill is adding up? Surely the itemise bill they send you upon request could give you more detail as to what the heck you did? What make me more upset is that my wifi data usage (for a family of 5 is standing on 12 gig. this is for the month of June (now, currently) and it is costing me R 599 per month!! Who do i talk to?? Vodacom customer care are not helpful. There are no way to talk to a manager or someone that can deal with more complex queries. I have been a customer for 20 years and unfortunately, i have just done my upgrade (after they written of the R7k, i thought: wow they really care! ) So, end of June my debit order will be R 18K. this is more than my monthly rental and car installment!
