R14 000 data bill and no answers from VODACOM since 02 June 2017

I have been trying to resolve a query since the beginning of June this year and to date I have not received any feedback after calling the Vodacom call centre on 6 occasions.

I received monthly bills for my data contract from January 2017 – May 2017 which cumulatively amounted to approximately R14 000, this after having taken out a contract that was supposed to amount to R180 per month. After enquiry I requested an itemised bill for the period (I was charged R20 per month for useless information) however the itemised bill was unable to indicate which websites were accessed to support the claim for the relevant bills. A call centre operator advised that they could request that a certain department provide me with the information, i.e. the accessed websites. To date I have not received any feedback from Vodacom and have subsequently cancelled my contract with Vodacom.

How can a mobile network provider accept a contract for R180 pm, knowingly offering a client an open line? My budget was R180 pm and not R3000 per month. Based on affordability I would not opt for a R3000 option and similarly if R3000 pm avg is to be deducted then surely an affordability calculation should be conducted?

Secondly, why was a cap not placed on the contract? Previously I had a cap on my contract and after renewal it disappeared, why was it removed?

Why can proof not be provide of how the data was utilised? Other networks are able to provide this information free of charge? Surelydetailed proof should be made available to support the billable amount?

As at end of May I had a credit on my account, to date the credit was not refunded to me. I have requested the refund on two occassions and to date is was not actioned. Vodacom is quick to deduct monies yet extremely slow to refund monies, please confirm when this credit will be refunded.

I had Vodacom live subscriptions deducted from my account after not subscribing, how can HUNDREDS of rands just be deducted without any sort of confirmation?

Please make arrangements to thoroughly investigate my data usage issue from Jan – May 2017 and provide proof of how my data was utilised and how I was billed and also make arrangements for the credit of R3800 to be refunded to me immediately.

I had a similar issue a few years ago where daily subscriptions were supposedly confirmed by my device, after sending an email to the CEO - Mohamed Shameel Aziz Joosub requesting assistance, he read my email(received a read receipt at 23:00 on a certain day) however he politely ignored my request for assistance and never had the decency of responding to my email, neither did he have the decency to forward my concerns to his management team for resolution.

This is not how you treat people that have built and supported your brand for many years.

Regards

Brandon
