Quick to send the phone, slow to collect it when there is a problem

I was under the impression that our Vodashop in Malmesbury were closed and since I needed to do my upgrade I decided to phone the upgrade department. That was last Monday, 2nd of May 2016, who told me I can also do the upgrade on the phone which sounded like a great idea to me. I asked for advice about a new phone. I asked the lady on the other side about the possible phone and how it compares to the one I have at the moment. She told me, that it is almost the same as the one I have, just an upgrade, thus a better one than the one I have. There were a choice between the Samsung Galaxy J1 ace and the so called 2016 version of this same phone. According to her it is excatly the same phone, just the one is a 2015 model and the other one a 2016 model. That is the basic difference between the Samsung Galaxy J1 2015 and 2016.

I then ordered the 2015 model because it is a little bit cheaper and it is almost the same as the 2016, however when I received the phone I had to do the set-up, myself which is good, because only then I saw that the J1 ace, the so-called 2015 model is only 4 GB big and my old phone has a intermal memory space of 8 GB. Since I need a phone with a larger internal memory space I was shocked to learn that this phone is this small. I then phoned a Vodashop the day after I received the phone with RAM couriers and told them about my disappointment, who then adviced me to phone the same nr 082 159 (upgrades) and tell them that I have been given the wrong info and they must please come and collect the phone, cancel the upgrade and then I will redo the upgrade at our closest Vodashop.

Since I have only 7 days to do so I phoned that same morning 3rd of May 2016 and asked them to come and collect the phone. They promised me to come and collect the phone and after they received it they will cancel the upgrade and I am free to redo it. However after promising RAM will come and fetch the phone this Monday or Tuesday nothing happened, so on Tuesday I phoned again and asked them if they are still coming. They didn't know what it was about and there were no notes on the system about the calls that I made and my request to come and collect the phone. I had to repeat everything. They then promised me again that they will send a mail to their supervisor and RAM informing RAM to collect the phone. I asked for a reference number as proof of our call since the 7 day perioud expires this Wednesday and I need the comformation that the phone will be picked up within this 7 days, however today which is Thursday 12 May 2016 I went to our closest Vodashop where I explained my situation after which they phoned this same number 082 159 and requested to know the status of my request. They however told her the same story and that there are no notes on the system about our calls or the problem. When she asked for a reference number as proof of her call to them and their promise to come and collect the phone either tomorrow or Monday next week they said that they can't give her one, so now we are back to square 1 if they don't come and collect the phone tommorrow or Monday. I have no idea if they are going to go back on their promise and if they are going to deliver on their promise.

When I ordered the phone last Monday I got a refernce number as soon as we finished speaking on the phone and I was informed that RAM will bring the phone soon, which happened on Wednesday, but now they can't give me proof of our calls and that they are informed about the problem. No notes on the system, no proof and no positive response on my request. Only empty promises so far. I am so frustrated with this situation and just want it to be over and finish so that I can redo it properly at the Vodashop and have a phone which will meet my needs. That was all I asked but that seems to be too difficult for the Vodacom upgrade department.

So, if they don't deliver on their promise this time, I don't know what more I can do.

Kind Regards

Lizette
