Puzzling service from Vodacom

I am on a Prepaid contract on Vodacom and buy at least 5GB monthly data bundles. I never received SMS notifications that my data bundle is almost depleted or that my data bundle is about to expire. Then time and time again it happens that they use up my prepaid money when the data is done.

I asked them to rectify this in February and June and on both occasions receive SMS confirmation that it has been done.

So yesterday, 06 July 2016 I am without airtime again. My data bundle expired and they used up my money. I connected using Online Chat, but the service agent told me the servers are down and she can't assist me. While talking to her the session unexpectedly closed. I then walked to Centurion Mall and on my way they tried phoning me back but the call disconnected. Getting to the mall I spoke to an agent who tried phoning Vodacom for about 15 minutes without success. Once she was connected the informed her that this service is not available to prepaid customers.

This all is utter nonsense. Vodacom being as big as they are should be able to run a query on their database for all prepaid customers who has a data bundle expire the following day and notify them. They also should be able to send an SMS to say a bundle is about to be depleted. I worked for MTN Nigeria and they certainly could do it. Let's not ask why data I purchase should expire in the first place.

I have lost a considerable amount of money to Vodacom's incompetence. Their customer complaint resolution procedure are also ineffective in making me feel like a valuable customer. Being prepaid should be no excuse for bad service.

Yesterday I put in a request to port out. I am done losing money for nothing.
