PUTRID CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!! UTTERLY DISGUSTED!!!

Have you ever had an experience with a service provider that left you so livid that you could hardly even speak. Well Vodacom has left me in such a mood. Not only are their consultants from store level till team leader *********** when you ask to speak to a manger one gets told 'that do not speak to customers'.

Very briefly, my account was transferred from Altech to Vodacom in 2016 sometime. During this transfer, there was a mix up with banking details and the debit order was not paid for about 3 month (phone still worked up until October so there was no way of telling). Went into the Liberty Midlands Mall branch and paid the outstanding amount and changed banking details to husbands banking details. All was well and we went on our merry way. Forward to December 2016 and yet again phone is suspended due to debit order not going through. Went into Brookside mall Branch in Pietermaritzburg only to be told that the banking details did not reflect. Paid outstanding amount and gave banking details yet again. Forward to January 2017 when the phone was suspended yet again and only to phone the call centre and find out that there were no banking details on the system.

At this point I am now beyond furious. I gave the lady my husband’s banking details once again which she captured. A resubmission of the debit order and voila, debit order went off quite nice on the 01/02/2017.

In all this time, it has come to my notice that R100 has been added onto my account for every debit order that got 'returned'. I am unsure of how this can happen when we had gone into the store to change the details and when queried the system reflects as cash paying customer. Now for the glitch in the system it means that I have to pay about R400n to R600 in debit order fees which I find unfair.

And just to illustrate the incompetence of the Vodacom staff, a consultant of the name Maschabe decides that she wants to tell me that the system does not allow third party debit orders. It seems like Vodacom has a communication problem from management down to their consultants. And by having a debit order go off a third-party bank account, disputed their own precedent.

And just to add insult to injury, I did and upgrade in August (before I knew of the ****py customer service I would be receiving) from a Blackberry to Huawei only to find out, 5 months later, that they are still charging me for BIS. Michael again said that he cannot do anything and I needed to go to the branch. Off I trekked in the blistering heat to the Liberty Midlands Mall branch once again only to be told by Sebastian that the consultant could have helped me over the phone. He said that he will cancel the BIS and upon consultation with his manager (name unknown) he said they will log it with Vodacom to have the money refunded and I will hear from them on Monday 06/02/2017.......crickets and when calling the call centre no surprise either....no request has been logged.

I got to speak to a delightful (sarcasm intended) 'team leader' named Pfarelo. Note to Vodacom: If you are hiring people of that calibre to work as Team Leaders then you really must have sub - par standards.

Her customer service bedside manner leaves little to be desired and seemed hell bent on getting me to understand your service request turnaround times...which I found to be the same period as your escalation period...you may want to consider that one Vodacom...

When telling her about the BIS, this fool...because I cannot think of any other word to describe her tells me that BIS is a valued added service and that it is not automatically cancelled (contrary to Sebastian's information) 'because in case the client still wants to use the sim in an Blackberry phone'....For crying out aloud, who are you to delve into such assumptions...and how tedious must it be to try and forecast all the manners in which a person would like to try and utilise there sim...it’s very cut and dry....not upgrading to a BIS enabled phone then no BIS and if I wanted to continue to have BIS I WOULD HAVE GOT ANOTHER BLACKBERRY!!!!

So, all ranting aside, I would like ALL MY MONEY PAID BACK TO BE POST HASTE before I decide to involve and ombudsman. And should I hear anything more about a 3-day service request wait period I will surely pop a blood vessel.

Get to it Vodacom and I would prefer to speak to a senior member of staff, one that I don’t have to spend 55 minutes on the phone with and explain this story to again....tick tock
