Promises

I have had a really nasty experience with Vodacom. Firstly, they take forever in a day to answer their call centre telephones. The call centre agents are brash and rude. They just have no idea on how to deal with let alone talk to a customer. They have a take it or leave it attitude.

My miserable experience with Vodacom started when my phone was "hard locked" without notice. I managed to get hold of the call centre only to be told that I had not paid my account. I was also informed that there was no debit order on the system. Vodacom claims that my bank had returned the debit order. I found that odd as I have never been informed by my bank of the rejection of the debit order and once again the call centre agent was rude to me. They did not submit the debit order and locked my phone due to incompetence on their part. The original bill of R1600 now turned out to be R3000. I have made numerous call to Vodacom and to date nobody can tell me what the R3000 is made up of. My frustration led me call the office of the CEO. After relating my story to the person who answered the phone I was put through to Ashwin who it was said is a supervisor. I had to once again relate my story. He gave me some telephone numbers which were not mine but nonetheless informed me that he could not help me as the system was down but he was giving me information that could only come from the system. He promised to send me a detailed statement the same day. A week later, stiil no sign of the detailed statement.

I called Vodacom again and had to relate my story all over again and the person promised to send me the detailed statement before he put me through to Ashwin. He said that he did send me the statement but promised to send me another one. Almost 72 hours later I am still waiting for it. Ashwin refused to give me any documentary evidence of the rejection of the debit order. Company policy. He then requested me to send him my bank statement to prove that on the date of the debit order there were funds in my account and that there was no rejection of the debit order. I promptly did so. I mailed my bank statement to ********** 72 hours later I am still waiting for a response. Of concern is the fact that Vodacom wants to hold me hostage for no know reason. They demand that I pay my bill without being able to explain why my bill had almost doubled. I was once told that I had not paid my bill in July 2016. That would be impossible as I had renewed my contract in November 2016.

It would appear that Vodacom has no clue on how to deal with customers. It is simply a case of tying you into a contract and then making you pay without providing you with a service. I am going to be chanrged for February even though I did not receive a service. Large companies like Vodacom are ************ and are only interested in making money at all costs. It is rather low of them to behave the way they are. I am most certain that there are many more dissatisfied customers of vodacom who are being fleeced by them.

It also appears that the staff at the call centre get a bonus to be rude to customers. They do it so enthusiasm that it is not funny. They have my business so to hell with how and what I feel. I have been promised that Pople from Vodacom will get back to me and here I am still waiting in vain.

This matter has not as yet been resolved. Vodacom does not give a damn about its customers. An enquiry that started over an overdue account of R1200.00 has now escalated to R7000.00 and nobody has any explanation for it. The high level of incompetency of the call centre staff who in some instances do not even know who their managers are leaves a lot to be desired. This morning I spoke to a manager and she informed me that its not her department and transferred me back to the call centre as I was speaking. Should we tolerate tgat level of rudeness, I think not. Vodacom is arrogant and treat their customers with disdain. Low llevel employees will call me and without listening to any explanation make unrealistic demands. In most instances the only thing they do well is apply their corporate culture of being rude and arrogant.

As much as I want to resolve this matter, it would appear that Vodacom does not want to. I am tied into a two year contract for which I am not getting any services.

I would expect a manager to at least call me to resolve this matter. But alas, that has not been forthcoming. I trust that after this post I will get a positive response from Vodacom with a view to resolving this matter amicably and NOT how they see it.

So, Vodacom here is an opportunity to show how much you value me as your customer.
